i am not sure how i found this site but i do know i have wasted a bunch of time on it. it’s called supercut and it is a collection of videos that people have cut out specific words, phrases or themes and crammed them together. this obama video says it all:

throughout my life i have had a handful of people that have made massive impacts in who i am and the work i do. my cousin gerren is one of those people. his mother and my mother are sisters and he grew up in louisiana while i grew up in portland. we didn’t spend much time together as kids but when i was about 19 years old gerren decided to move to portland to go to school and this was the beginning of many adventures.

some inside highlights i remember about my time spent with gerren:

creating many wacky t-shirt and logo ideas with garett
the hand crafted master blaster studio
unreal tournament & twisted metal 2
watching johnny regress daily with steel reserve
the live pa at the crab bowl
casual intensities
la center
discovering the name “mano-destra”
popsicle pangia and all the other rando names
the fall in the shower

i went to see gerren when he got married in december of 2005 to his wonderful wife morgana and ever since i have heard nothing but positive things happening in his life. he is truly one of the most talented musician, artists, illustrators and gamers you will ever meet. had to throw in gamer. #comedy

he now lives in austin, texas and is kicking total ass as a senior designer at gsdm.

i love you gerren – and i am proud of you! thank you for all the creative energy you invested in me.

banyan branch – the social media agency

so there are two reasons i am posting this project. 1. there is a hot chick that works there and i am trying to get her number… and 2. it is a fucking amazing website – both in design and framework.

banyan branch is a social media agency based out of seattle, washington and they recently launched this new site that leverages a nice medley of html5, jquery and parallax. the parallax reminds me a lot of the nike better world site but this rendition of the concept actually has end value.

i took a few screen caps of my favorite pages but take a moment to check it out.

well done guys. i continually tried to break it and i couldn’t. unlike most of my work. krunk!

i got this picture from a site julian sent me called hey okay and while i have seen a lot of sites with funny pictures i thought that this one was extra special.

and to end the week positive, here is dj qbert laying down some chops dressed as a lamb. tite!

subaru “mediocrity” campaign = brilliant

this is the sort of stuff that separates a car company from the rest. subaru decided to do a campaign that promotes a make believe car called the “mediocrity” which is something to be totally forgotten. they highlight and boast how underwhelming the car is and it captured my attention to the fullest. the funny thing is that all i could think of is saturn. saturn’s to me are like the most forgettable cars on the road – but then again i am a believer that a car should be all about getting from point a to point b. i just thought the idea was super captivating.

the sad part is that i don’t think the car they are actually promoting is all that attractive. it’s nice but it reminds me of a ford. either way, stellar idea. bravo.

chatroulette is intense

this is wild. the site is called chatroulette and the concept is that you hit play and it instantly finds someone else and sticks you together in a full on video chat. like russian roulette but for video chat and without the fear of dying. all you need is a webcam. so i guess there is some fear – the fear of seeing someone doing wacko shit.

the video below is a nice safe example of how to have fun with it. however i imagine most people have a different idea of fun with a live camera. it spooks me the fuck out to be honest. i connected and instantly i was staring at this teenage dude and i was like c-ya!

garett recently relaunched his blog with a fresh direction. mr. stenson was my business partner at db clay / ductbills / life. while his blog is nice i am pushing him to write a book. his stories are insane – well, all but the one about him shitting his pants in an airport.

for those that love + hate shoes

i am not quite sure who this crystal bee chick is, but i like her style – mostly her ability to call shenanigans. her target? shoes. now, i am not really into shoes. my wife is for sure. she will look at a pair of heels with a stare as if she has had a twisted love affair with them. who knows.

crystal bee started a site called bills shoes booze and it is dedicated to calling out sometimes missed but later obvious flaws in shoe fashion. you want to feel better about your somewhat tired shoe collection? click click click ahhhh… now my checkered vans don’t seem so drab.

on a larger picture scale i feel the site reminds me of my mission to satirize the tasteless consumer flaws in mankind. why do we feel that we need such stupid things?

i took the screen shot above from the website thru-you.com to explain the video you are about watch below. this should make you feel extremely uncreative since it is so dope.

but wait there’s more! not sure if anyone remembers that shaved head fitness chick named susan powter but i came across this video and i loved it. yes, susan is a bit nuts but i love it – she was always my favorite flash in the pan exercise freak. billy blanks can eat a dick.

no room for veggies people.
