the movie they live came out in 1988 and was directed by john carpenter. it is sooo good. here is the short plot by imdb:

A drifter discovers a pair of sunglasses that allow him to wake up to the fact that aliens have taken over the Earth.

i personally believe that this plot is real. shape shifters, reptilians and beings from another dimension have control of our minds.

this is so worth listening to. i went to louis c.k.’s wikipedia page and found that this interview was mentioned and explains it perfectly:

During an interview with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on the Opie and Anthony radio show, Louis C.K. famously asked Rumsfeld whether he is in fact a Mexican baby-eating space lizard “who eats the poor.” Rumsfeld declined to comment.

as awkward as the interview is, it is interesting that rumsfeld neither denies or confirms the allegations. maybe even the lizards have rules about lying – like asking a cop of they are a cop. gotta come clean braw.

i got the following email from my friend graeme and i thought it was perfect.

I had been shooting and walked into mcdonalds yesterday. they’re my new place I hang out, in an attempt to explore something i don’t really get. plus the light is always beautiful in their parking lots.

Set the stage. Her is a standard late twenties black chick supporting the stereotype. Me, your standard white thirty something guy w/ a camera around his neck doing the exact same.

Her: Welcome to mcdonalds next customer
Me : Hey, how’s it going?
H: what do you want?
M: can i get a mcflurry, a medium oreo one?
H: there’s no ice cream
M: oh, bummer. okay, then how about one of those frappe things, do you have those?
H: yes
M: okay, I’ll go that direction then
H: what size do you want.
M: small
H: we only have medium
M: (laughing at the irony in that, though she doesn’t break a smile). oh ok, medium is good then
H: what flavor?
M: mocha
H: we only have caramel.
M: (laughing even more) are you fucking w/ me? (thinking she just had a dry sense of humor and in fact did enjoy the irony)
H: (she shrugs her shoulders and sort of looks away coyly as if she expected me to get mad at her at this point.)
M: (I stopped laughing, since i think i might be insulting her at this point). man, i mean, it’s funny you even asked the questions?
H: (just looks at me)
M: (stops smiling) okay, I’ll have a caramel one then.
H: your total is $3.09
