scan the cosmos for undiscovered objects

December 14, 2009

Space Scope

the first sentence of the story on cnn:

NASA launched a new telescope into space on Monday to scan the cosmos for undiscovered objects, including asteroids and comets that might threaten Earth.

wondering if this is the beginning of the paper trail for them to say well, we thought it would be a great idea to just take a look to see if we might be in danger and you won’t believe what we found… – i hope they don’t say howard the duck.

currently on nasa’s site you can view the archive of all the pictures they take of space in high resolution. and they take a snap like every few minutes. the catalog is massive and there is some weird shit in the pics but the reality is that i never really know what i am looking at.
