institute for human continuity

now this shit, is bonkers.

to be honest, i don’t really know my take on it yet. i understand putting out a website to promote a movie but this is just a tad dark. but at the same time it is kind of brilliant.

it basically is a site that pledges to continue earth after shit hits the fan at the end of the year 2012. you can sign up for a lottery to win a chance at being one of the chosen for the task. this well constructed flash site closely resembles one of those spendy flash template sites you may find out on the internets. it was the first thing that tipped me off to it being some dumb over funded promotion. visit the site here

if you haven’t seen the apocalyptic movie trailer for 2012 – here it is:

the much more appropriate version (a must watch)

and a bonus wacky video

standing broom lady: going to capitalize on something bizarre. can’t blame her. she’s not the first.

oh, and adam – my clock says 1 day. i don’t roll on shabbos.

Ah, so you’re Jewish?

I don’t have time right now to check out that site but it looks crazy interesting. But I can’t wait to see 2012. I’ve been psyched since I first heard of it over a year ago.

Wow… a broom?! I guess that’s a perfect story to keep people minds off of what’s really happening.
