Joeri is coming

when db clay first started out in the beginning of 2005 we put out an international call for artists. we needed a logo and we were willing pay out some cash for some ideas. it was shocking how many submissions we received and that they were from all over the world. i was in charge of the project so i was in charge of going through the submissions.

well, i came across one portfolio that was far beyond all the other submissions and it was from a guy named joeri tan who (at the time) lived in nijmegen, holland. i emailed joeri to tell him how much i enjoyed his work and we instantly hit it off. we added each other to IM and we have pretty much stayed in touch on a weekly basis since.

i have learned a lot from my digital pen pal. when my mom passed away at the beginning of 2006 he was big support – even on the other side of the world. hope is not faith he would tell me and it was exactly what i needed. november of 2006 i went over to europe to see my gf tracy who was studying in paris and we went up holland and met up with joeri in amsterdam for the first time face to face. he gave us the royal treatment – what a guy!

joeri is coming to portland at the end of this month with his gf. he is going to be potentially meeting with some design company’s with the hopes of maybe moving to pdx. cross your fingers for him and his gal because i think it would be bad ass if they lived here.

you can see some of his work at iotyp.com

can’t wait to see you joeri!
