google earth vs reality television

so i just downloaded the new google earth 5.0 and i have been clicking away like a total freak. uh do i want to check out the ocean floor? or do i want to check out the stars? or do i want to check out the physical landscape of olympus mons on fucking mars?!?! seriously?! all i can think about is the bullshit we had in the 3rd grade which was totally a privilege because we had bumps on our globe. now you can see sharks in the ocean and planes in mid flight. if you do not have google earth then download it cause it is friggin free!!!!!

while i was poking around with it i started to ponder reality television and the unbelievable massive audience that fuels it. then i started to think about how many of those people know what color brett michaels eyes are and how few of those people have ever seen the landscape of mars. point being – no one gives a shit about things that are mind blowing. instead people want this:

the point is that i hate everything that reality tv stands for and i wish there were channels on tv that focused on stuff like google earth anomalies. but hell, i guess that is what i have my computer for.

Google Earth has long been one of my favorite programs, I’m downloading version 5 now and I’m looking forward to playing around on it!

And yes, you do kind of look like Brett Michaels in that pic. It’s uncanny.

Google Earth was never blocked, but at the school where my husband teaches they finally had to give teachers an override for the filter cause so many teachers are actually USING things like YouTube as a teaching tool…

And you have to admit, RuPaul has nice boobs.
