gas masks and grime

January 22, 2010

my good buddy brino printed off an enormous poster of the image below as a gift. 3 feet tall by 4 feet wide on photo paper. it is a picture of child size gas masks from the chernobyl disaster – which if you haven’t brushed up on the subject in a while you should – it is a mind melter. the essence of tragedy.

Gotta give love to my bro Sean Stiegemeier http://www.in-perfidia.com for lending me the image. There were too many to choose from so I thought I’d go with the most gut-sinking one.

K. I have two friends who were young children in Poland when this went down. They have permanent damage to their bodies. Totally sucks but they are happy amazing adults and I’ve learned so much from them. Thanks for the reminder of my easy life.
