411 sucks

in the past when i wanted to find a location on the road i would call 411 and it would cost me some stupid amount of money for the service. and the funny thing is that you can call one call center and they have no idea what you are talking about but if you call back to another call center they have the exact information you are looking for. shady. i got smarter these past few years and i just started to call my friends who are always online. hey ian, can you google the homeless shelter downtown? i am late for my volunteering. ;)

well god bless google. they seem to have unlimited middle fingers. they now have a service where if you call 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) from any phone you can search businesses by category. like wallets or db clay makes really neat wallets as an example :)

don’t believe me? check out the google labs 411 page here.
