Blazer #33

went to a blazer game last night. before hand i went and shot hoops with my homies at db clay. let’s just say the net didn’t look like that before i got a hold of the ball.

the canby catalinas sang the national anthem which i thought was funny since my family lives in canby. and i think my brother was a catalina when he was like a freshmen or something. it was pretty uneventful. so i stuck in a couple of random highlights.

Blazer Sign

it was fun to finally see greg oden play. he is so big that even while guys are holding onto him fouling him, he still manages to get the ball in. rudy fernandez was far and away the most entertaining to watch. the dude is unreal.

Blazer Team

most of the main players from last year didn’t play. channing is still recovering from his ankle bull shit and steve blake is injured as well. martel webster wasn’t even there. it was a good chance to see some new faces move the ball around. shit, listen to me… i sound like a sports announcer.

we went out to bay 13 afterward and it should have been called gay 13. it was some fashion event thing where people had to wait in line and be on a list to drink and stare at each other. the music was really good though. but people were not drunk enough to dance.

in other news:

the stands were full… despite our economic state

i am sure when they were building the sign they were probably thinking we should add another digit just in case thinking that it would never actually get that bad. am i the only person that feels these numbers don’t really mean anything anymore? it’s not like we are actually planning on doing anything about it accept keep drawing from it. punch and pie for everyone!

yeah, i love how the presidential election has turned into NOTHING BUT the how-we-will-fix-the-economy election. i mean, its stupid-important, but come on man, what happened to the other issues?

oh, and in a not-related-but-i-guess-it-is-related note, i had a super strong urge to take my son to a blazer’s game, then remembered that i had no monies. and then realized that my son probably wouldn’t like it unless the blazers busted out into song ala high school musical.

How’d you like that Rudy Fernandez alley-oop to end the first half? I agree, that kid is insane. I’m so glad he’s a Blazer.

Channing looks so bored. He needs to start ballin’ again! Hopefully he’ll be back before the regular season.
