i wanted to go check out some stuff at american apparel here in portland yesterday on my lunch break. so my friend david and i walked over and i decided to pick a few things out – like the headband in the picture below. i highlighted portland on the bag to prove it. kinda curious how we got bumped to the footer? even coconut grove beat us out. where the hell is coconut grove anyway?

i have been aware of this company for quite some time. hell, anyone who likes looking at hot chicks that pass as the girl next door is aware of this company. they have gained uber notoriety and controversy from their signature marketing ploy. as shown below. oh yeah, and if you want more, just click here.

the concept is simple. plain, blank clothing with plain looking (yet beautiful) women in really provocative positions. in some cases it is almost comedy how intense they are. well, a couple of years back the owner, dov charney got a lot of heat for his shameless and perverted ploys – both in business and in pleasure. har har. this video below kinda says it all. you gotta figure that if he does enough good stuff for america he can go on banging whoever, whenever he wants. brilliant!

gotta love the fact the stuff is made in america but damn you pay for it. i got 1 black t-shirt, 2 black head bands and 1 pair of black fingerless gloves. my total was $46.00. maybe that is good, shit i don’t know, it seemed like a lot to me. and the chick working there looked like she walked right out of one of the ads – apathy and all.
