the word darsh
Posted: November 19, 2008
as many of my close friends know, i use the word darsh daily. i also frequent the combo darsha brady. many people ask what does that mean?
so now i am going to share. cast your mind…
about 5 years ago my friend garett and i had an apartment together which we often invited our close buddies over for no other reason than to pick on each other. one of our favorite things to do was to turn on the local news and see who could say the most witty thing that would satirize what we were watching in a creative way. local news is so dumb. anyways, one night we were watching south park - it was garett, ian and i and there was this episode on called assspen
which was a spin-off of the 80’s movie better off dead
.

well, the ski bully at one point in the episode starts picking on stan marsh and decides to call him stan marsh the darsh. as seen in the clip below:
later that night after the episode, ian and i started calling garett a darsh and we thought it was really funny. it got even better when garett started to get mad at us… stop calling me that!
- and sure as shit, we never stopped. and to this day the only person that uses the word darsh as much as i do - is ian.

it is like one of those inside things that really doesn’t amount to anything. if i ever call you a darsh - don’t be offended. just ask julian… i call him a darsha brady as often as i can.

Poor Julian. Between being Darsha Brady and Channing rubbing his head all the time I bet he’s about to come in one day with a shot gun and take care of us all.

Awesome. I’ve always wondered what that meant, but was afraid to ask for fear of looking like a darsh.

That’s great. I love South Park and Better Off Dead. Thanks for reminding me of that episode. I don’t know how I ended up here, but nice blog.
