some of our plants

tracy and i love plants. my dad got us this labeler a while back and we have been naming everything. graeme is in town for some photo gig and he is staying with us and his dad gave us this new plant.

graeme is not a fan of this plant - so much that he can’t eat around it. we gave him the opportunity to name the big old son of a bitch. he decided to call it ulysess
and we decided to call him fabio
. this plant seriously weighs like 30+ pounds. the runner up name for this plant was gotham city
which tracy coined. i thought it was solid.

bonz-e was a gift from my sister. it is an indoor bonsai plant. while it make look dead it is not. literally 3 weeks ago it it was full and within two days it lost all it’s leaves. i would be worried if this hadn’t happened before. bonz-e is our pride… our future. i will post an image once he doesn’t look so tim burton.

carlos was a wedding gift from our good friend ryan pennington. he was very weary giving us this plant and he still brings it up every time i see him. how’s the plant?
and even though i tell him it is flourishing, he doesn’t believe me. we named it carlos since it is a coca plant which is the plant used to make cocaine. i am not sure if it is illegal or not to own it but either way it is a beautiful plant. it looks like something out of a dr. suess book.

ike is the least special. i went to ikea a while back when it opened here in pdx just to check the monstrosity out. while i was there i figured i couldn’t walk away with nothing so i decided to peep the plant section. i picked up this fake plant for whatever reason and it was $5. i then found a real plant and for $2 and a pot for $2 which came in $1 less then the fake plant. even though it didn’t make any sense i pulled the trigger. and while ike may be underwhelming… he has vet status over all the plants. besides bonz-e that is.

corky is our slow plant. i purchased this plant for tracy for valentines day and it has yet push out any flowers. it isn’t dead - it is very much alive. just slow.

this last picture is not of a plant but it might as well be since my niece is growing like a weed. a pretty weed that is. her dedication was this saturday and all she wanted to do was kiss everyone. it melted my cold, dark gray heart. she is awesome. geneva diggles.

i love it when people name random things. which is another reason why i love gilmore girls. they name inanimate objects. hahahahahhahaa. sorry. i also have an overwhelming hatrid deep deep down for tim burton. ahhh. it’s random fact day. hey-oh!

carlos looks fantastic! He’s excited about his new home and a wonderful life with Mr. + Mrs. Diggles. His brother misses him a bit, but overall, is fine with the new arrangement.

I love our plants… Geneva is growing like a weed, she will be 5 years old in no time! She kissed me at the dedication too…
