Graeme Mitchell V3

i know i have launched a lot of websites lately. and yes more are coming. this one however is very special to me. graeme mitchell is my best friend and he lives in nyc. he is a fashion photographer and he needed a website with 2 requirements
- a site that delivered large images quickly
- a site that wasn’t flash
i have always loved a good challenge and i probably wouldn’t be so passionate about this project if there was some one out that had already built a solid CSS gallery that was large and fast. i used a bit of javascript as well of course - that is what makes it function like a flash site. but did i mention it wasn’t flash? holla!

The site is such a treat, and so so effective. It leaves me with the distinct feeling of being without an excuse. As in, if someone isn’t provoked while visiting this site, it’s the fault of the pictures and nothing else. Thanks.

great looking site diggles. thank you (and it seems mr. graeme) for not doing a flash site. classy, fast, effective… similar to diggles’s make-out-skills. also, great photos graeme.

It’s really refreshing to see such a powerful cross-browser interactive site that utilizes javascript. Thankfully, most people that will be looking at this site aren’t 88 years old with a pc dated 1993 that doesn’t even know javascript or auto-blocks it.
More designers should take cue from what you are doing in terms of interactive userface systems instead of overly using Flash (which has cross-browser problems). Flash doesn’t even show up on the iPhone yet. Graeme’s site has a zen feeling that really lets the beautiful photography breath. Great minimalistic design choices (and consistent branding for Graeme between his blog and the previous versions of his website).
