My name is Benjamin Cavanagh Diggles.

I am the web director + co-founder of db clay. I am 28, happily married + living in Portland, Oregon. I don't have many reasons for keeping this blog. I tend to talk about emerging web culture + how ridiculous the media is but the majority of this site consists of stuff that makes me smile. find archives here

I fear neckties + 2012 + I have mild OCD but I will always post, so please come back or subscribe to my rss feed. Feel free to leave a comment + not be an asshole. Relax, none of this means a thing.
You can contact me here for whatever reason. Cheers!

About Me

micrsoft made me put down the knife

Posted: June 11, 2007

holy jumpin’ jesus on a pogo stick! microsoft usually makes me want to stab myself in the face but within this last week i have seen two videos that could make me put the knife down. the first one posted above is called photosynth demo and that is all i know. i don’t even want to try to explain it however i will say it connects meta-data within images so be smart about how you name and tag your flickr photos.

the second is below. this is darn cool. it is called microsoft surface and it is sort of like one of those old table top arcade games on helsinki heroine. the moment my girlfriend saw the demo she was like i want one of those with that whatever it takes looks in her eyes. which leads me to believe they are going to sell a ton of these things even though they run for like 6 to 9k.

and not to be a total punk but it does load a little slow.

that surface computer is exciting. it will be cool for creative companies (like db clay). imagine being able to sit around the thing with other people and each person has piles of pictures or documents or whatever on their side of the screen, and just going through ideas together. that idea of being able to use the computer communally in a natural social way is huge.

[…] a little while back i posted a glimpse at the new micrsoft surface table top computer. i still think it is a rad piece of hardware - however i thought this pardoy commercial was on the money. it is wild to think that apple made thier own surface computer only it fits in your pocket and makes phone calls. i still want one share + enjoy:These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.
