My name is Benjamin Cavanagh Diggles.

I am the web director + co-founder of db clay. I am 28, happily married + living in Portland, Oregon. I don't have many reasons for keeping this blog. I tend to talk about emerging web culture + how ridiculous the media is but the majority of this site consists of stuff that makes me smile. find archives here

I fear neckties + 2012 + I have mild OCD but I will always post, so please come back or subscribe to my rss feed. Feel free to leave a comment + not be an asshole. Relax, none of this means a thing. You can check out my portfolio here.
You can contact me here for whatever reason. Cheers!

happy halloween: this year i am doing nothing!

Happy Halloween

i have never been a fan of halloween. it’s not because i don’t like to dress up but because there is an unreal amount of expectation that seems to be attached to the holiday. “do you know of any good parties” is the question that always gets thrown around. once you find a party then you have to figure out what you want to be. once you find out what you want to be you then have to find the outfit. once you have the outfit then you have to find someone to drive you to the party so you don’t hit and kill a couple of grade schoolers out trick or treating.

however, if you do find a good party and a good costume and a designated driver then it has a possibility of being the best party night of the year. i have always been a fan of self-expression so i think that those who choose to not dress up at a dress up party are total fuckers. if you are invited to a halloween party and you don’t want to dress up then don’t go!

this year the reason i am nothing is because i am in riomaggiore which is a small town in cinque terre, italy. i am visiting my girlfriend tracy who is studying in paris and we decided to take some time away. if you knew how small the town is then you would understand that finding a halloween party is about as likely as finding the holy grail… and this is the exact reason we went.
