spyware + spam = mystery
Posted: October 4, 2006
ok - i know that this is no news but spyware + spam sucks ass. i am a recent mac user but i still write music on a pc.
who makes spam and spyware software? i know they exist and i know people know they exist - so why does it persist? if i knew someone that scripted spyware software i would make their life a living hell in anyway possible. i bet you they make spyware with macs or instructions lie somewhere in the mormon bible. someday some smart s.o.b. like the guys at google will come up with a way to avoid this shit by creating a feature called ‘merc.google.com’ where you can hire someone to kill off another spammer or spyware darsh.
‘take out their families as well’ will be a check box available. i for one am going to check it.

Spam was originally put out by some shrewd geeks that saw an opportunity to financially exploit the new media. I was at a Webmaster World conference and I listened to some of the folks that made serious coin back in the day from making perfectly SEOed pages to sell millions in Viagra and porn.
Today, however, much of the spyware and virus industry is put out by organized crime. That’s right, the mafia. It’s one of the industries where they can make money illegally and that’s always appealing to that crowd. There is a serious territory war going on that virtually no one is aware of. And, while some of the viruses you get are as obviously malicious as spyware, most of it they don’t want you to know is on your machine because they want to use your ‘puter to send out their spam. Ya know, chalk up your machine as another comprimised member of their bot net.
